At the end of the season we experience alpine passes, Verona, magnificent gardens and regional delicacies.
The outward journey takes us into Graubünden and over the Julier Pass - Maloja Pass into Bergell and on to the region around Chiavenna. Here we enjoy a delicious lunch, including the famous gnocchetti della Valchiavenna. In the afternoon, we continue through Valtellina and past Lake Iseo to Valeggio sul Mincio, where we check into our rooms at the well-known Agriturismo Ca del Gal and enjoy a typical dinner of the region.
Welcome to Verona today! With a tour guide, we visit the sights of this charming city with its impressive architecture and romantic atmosphere. We visit the Arena, the third largest of its kind and famous as a venue for famous operas and concerts. Then we stroll through Via Mazzini with its stores and boutiques and treat ourselves to a cappuccino or aperitif in the historic market square, Piazza delle Erbe. Of course, we see the house of the famous Juliet from Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”. The balcony and the statue of Juliet are popular photo motifs. We leave Verona around midday and drive into the countryside. Here we enjoy a delicious lunch in a lovely restaurant. The motto: from a simple grain of rice to a sophisticated dish. On the way back, we stop off at a wine grower's and sample the fine wines of the region. Dinner at Silvia and Elena's.
After a hearty breakfast, a fascinating tour of the Parco Giardino Sigurta awaits us. First, we discover the park on a small train along the “Route of Enchantment”. We marvel at the water gardens, the garden of medicinal plants, the hermitage, the large oak tree, the statues and much more - but above all at the many trees, which show themselves in a beautiful colorful splendor, especially in autumn. After these many impressions, we continue on to the Franciacorta region. A lovely restaurant awaits us for our last lunch. With many wonderful memories, another season comes to an end and we are already looking forward to the 2026 travel season.
