End of season in Veneto
At the end of the season, we head to the Veneto region to Agriturismo Ca del Gal.
Itinerary
"The time has finally come!" This year we're heading to Valeggio sul Mincio, to Agriturismo Ca' del Gal - a place known to many of our guests for its legendary tortellini lunches. Silvia and Elena give us a warm welcome and look forward to being our hosts for two nights. Over the past few months, they have lovingly extended their agriturismo with additional rooms and are now ready to welcome our group. So don't just look forward to the delicious tortellini, but also to the genuine hospitality that comes from the heart.
1st day
Early departure towards the south. A "cappuccino break" is planned in Ticino to get us in the mood for our trip to Italy. After passing Milan, we are expected to enjoy a delicious lunch in the province of Lodi. Afterwards, a short drive to Cremona, the cradle of violin making. Here we immerse ourselves in the world of music and learn interesting facts about the sights and the art of violin making during a guided tour of the city. There is still time for an aperitif in the piazza, where we can experience the Italian flair at first hand. Later in the afternoon, we arrive at the agriturismo and soon enjoy a dinner that includes tortellini.
2nd day
We start the day with a leisurely breakfast. Our destination today is the picturesque countryside around Brescello, the home of Don Camillo and Peppone. In the museum, we immerse ourselves in the time when Brescello became the film set for the famous stories. In a small village, we enjoy a multi-course lunch with local dishes before our journey continues to Mantua. Mantua, a historic city in Lombardy, impresses with its enchanting old town centre, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. On our tour, it quickly becomes clear why Mantua has been awarded this honour. The day ends with a delicious dinner at Ca del Gal, where we can savour the culinary delights of the region once again.
3rd day
After breakfast, we head towards Rodengo Saiano. The charming Franciacorta outlet village awaits us there, designed like a picturesque village and home to a variety of outlet shops from renowned brands. Here we can shop to our heart's content and find exclusive bargains. Before we leave Italy with a hearty 'Arrivederci', we enjoy our last lunch in a romantic agriturismo. With wonderful memories in our luggage, we then embark on the direct return journey to Switzerland.
