From St. Moritz to Zermatt
Experience our beautiful Alpine world from Piz Bernina to the Matterhorn on the world-famous Glacier Express. The traditional mountain valleys with their centuries-old culture, glistening glaciers, the lush green of the Alpine meadows, the imposing tunnels and bridges are impressions that you will not soon forget. Stays in the world-famous holiday resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt provide the ideal setting for this adventure tour.
Day 1: Arrival in St. Moritz
Our journey takes us via the motorway, past Lake Walen, Sargans, Landquart and through the Prättigau to Davos. We take a free lunch break in the Grisons spa town, and there is plenty of time for a stroll through the village streets. The journey then continues over the Flüela Pass, Zernez and Zuoz to St. Moritz. Here we check into our rooms at the **** Hotel Laudinella and enjoy dinner together at the hotel.
Day 2: St. Moritz - Zermatt
After breakfast, we embark on a marvellous journey on the famous Glacier Express through the unique Swiss Alps. The route from Graubünden to Valais leads over 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels (including the 15 km long Furka Tunnel) and over the 2044 m high Oberalp Pass. Lunch is served on the train. Overnight stay and dinner in the Matterhorn village of Zermatt at the ***Hotel Butterfly.
Day 3: Zermatt
Today is at your leisure in Zermatt. How about a hike through the beautiful mountains? Or would you prefer to take the railway up to Gornergrat, Sunnegga, Alp Furi to Rothorn or Schwarzsee? The 4-course dinner is served at the hotel.
Day 4: Journey home
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a train journey to Täsch. The journey home takes us through the Valais to Yvorne. There we visit a small wine cellar where we can sample various wines. We will also be served small appetisers. We continue to Montreux. Free time and opportunity for lunch on the shores of Lake Geneva. In the afternoon we travel back to the Olten / Aarau region, arriving in the early evening.
