In February, we went on a trip with our senior citizens.
As in every other company, this event is a way for us to thank our former employees for their great commitment to the company, some of whom have been with us for almost 40 years. But it's not just gratitude that is the reason for our outing - no, it's also very important that we stay together, which we like to do even after retirement. So this day is a day of joy for everyone. Gabi Born welcomed 6 alumni and their partners to a surprise excursion early in the morning. We travelled by car, guided by Christian Steck, towards Appenzell. Here we were allowed to practise our sausage-making skills and everyone was able to make their own sausages. We were expected at the Romantikhotel Säntis for lunch and were served a delicious meal. At lunchtime, the fog gave way to sunshine and the weather was picture-perfect. We spontaneously decided to enjoy dessert at the Hoher Kasten revolving restaurant. As it had snowed the day before and during the night, we experienced a marvellous winter wonderland. The atmosphere was exuberant and cheerful and many an anecdote was shared and the words ‘do you remember?’ were heard here and there that day. We reminisced and I think everyone felt twenty or thirty years younger. We soon got back into the car and after an entertaining journey we met up with our ‘active’ friends in Trimbach. After a snack together, a wonderful day with our seniors came to an end.
